Great service and great working through the issue to devise a gameplan and help me get my dishwasher replaced. I started off with a dishwasher that broke down and researched a few appliances. My refrigerator/freezer produced excessive ice causing the causing to make a strange and loud noise. I thought the fan/motor was damaged. With the help of a friend, we removed the fan/motor and order a replacement. Well! I ordered the wrong part. My refrigerator/freezer was off for about one and half month. Garbage disposal repair FAQ
Why does my disposal hum but not spin?
Something is usually wedged between the spinning plate and the grinding ring, or the motor has seized from sitting. Turn off the wall switch, then work the hex socket on the bottom of the unit back and forth with the wrench that came with it (most take a 1/4-inch Allen key). Never reach inside. If it still only hums, the motor is failing — call us.
Is it safe to press the reset button?
Yes. Turn the wall switch off, press the small red button on the bottom of the unit, then try it again with cold water running. If it trips again right away, stop — the motor is jammed or overheating.
Should I repair or replace my garbage disposal?
Repair it if it’s jammed, tripping the reset or leaking at a drain connection. Replace it if water is leaking from the body of the unit or the motor is burned out — especially on a disposal over 8–10 years old.
Do you install new garbage disposals?
Yes. We replace worn-out disposals and install new ones under sinks that already have power for one, and reconnect the dishwasher drain while we’re there.
How much does garbage disposal repair cost?
It depends on whether it can be repaired or needs replacing. You get a flat quote — for the repair, or for a new disposal installed — before we start, and the $69 service call is free when you go ahead.
