Most vent problems start behind the dryer: a foil transition hose that’s crushed when the dryer is pushed back, or a connection that has worked loose. We replace crushed foil hoses with semi-rigid metal, clear blocked caps, flaps and nests, clean the run end to end, and measure airflow before and after. Long basement runs and roof-bound vents are part of the job. Anything beyond a same-visit fix gets a flat quote first.

My refrigerator/freezer produced excessive ice causing the causing to make a strange and loud noise. I thought the fan/motor was damaged. What are the signs my dryer vent needs repair?
Clothes taking two cycles, a very hot dryer or laundry room, a burning smell, lint behind the dryer or around the outside cap, an outside flap that barely opens, or a Check Vent, Flow Sense or d80 code.
What’s the difference between dryer vent cleaning and repair?
Cleaning clears lint from a vent that’s in good shape. Repair fixes the vent itself — a crushed or loose hose, a blocked or broken cap. We usually do both in one visit. See dryer vent cleaning.
Is a crushed or blocked dryer vent a fire risk?
Yes. Lint builds up fastest where airflow is restricted. The U.S. Fire Administration estimates about 2,900 home clothes dryer fires a year, and failure to clean is the leading cause.
