My refrigerator/freezer produced excessive ice causing the causing to make a strange and loud noise. I thought the fan/motor was damaged. How long does AC replacement take?
Most straightforward replacements are done in a day. Changing system type or adding ductwork takes longer — we tell you up front.
Do I need to repair or replace my AC?
Repair if it’s under about 12 years old and the fix is a fraction of a new system. Replace if the compressor has failed, leaks keep coming back, or it’s an older R-22 system.
What size AC do I need?
It depends on your home, not just the old unit. We look at square footage, windows, insulation and layout before quoting AC replacement.
What is SEER2?
SEER2 is the current efficiency rating for air conditioners and heat pumps. Higher numbers use less electricity; we’ll explain the trade-offs for your home.
Should I replace my furnace at the same time?
If the furnace is about the same age, replacing both together often saves labor and ensures they’re matched. If it’s newer, we can usually keep it.
What are common AC replacement mistakes?
Buying the wrong size, choosing on price alone, skipping a new indoor coil, and hiring an unlicensed installer. Each one costs more later.
